about

2022 marks the tenth year for Unit 137 sound system and record label. To celebrate the anniversary three of the founding producers, Ed West, Hylu and Sleepy Time Ghost, have created a three track EP. The 10 Years EP demonstrates the breadth of electronic influences that make Unit 137 such a unique sound system. Based in Hither Green (Lewisham, London), Unit 137 has been carving out a name for itself as a sound system pushing bass orientated music since 2012. Unit 137 understand the influence sound system culture has had on music in the UK and across the world, and has built an ethos that accepts difference, pushes creativity, whilst remaining respectful and knowledgeable about the culture’s roots.

The EP starts with this heavy dancehall inspired track from Ed West. Aptly titled, Daddy, what are dreams for?, the track fires off surreal sci-fi-esque samples and synth lines between driving kicks and bass.
